The vision of Christ’s Greenfield Lutheran Preschool was in place before the facility was built. The founding members of Christ’s Greenfield Lutheran Church wanted an educational facility that would serve the young residents of Gilbert and the East Valley. The fledgling church commissioned an area architect to design a church along with an neighboring preschool facility; a very forward-thinking idea at the time. Christ’s Greenfield Lutheran Preschool began in January of 1986, with six students.
In 1989, CGLP became the first preschool in Arizona to become nationally accredited. Christ’s Greenfield has continuously maintained the accreditation through the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (NAEYC), the gold standard of accreditations. We are excited and honored to meet the stringent standards set forth by educational supervisory body.
In December of 2008, CGLP moved into new classrooms, adjacent to our sister elementary and junior high. The new facility boasts eight large classrooms, offices and two playgrounds. The program includes Spanish instruction, Mathematics Specialist, Language Arts Specialist, optional lunch program, community involvement, Christmas programs, authentic assessments, technology integration and chapel experiences.
